2024 CAP Mini-Grant Project: “Together We Stand, Together We Can” and “Helping One Another”
Mission: Making it possible for individuals with disabilities to enter or re-enter employment, live independently, and be a contributing member of society at large.
Collaborating with other nonprofits to enhance community programs by making them more inclusive to people with disabilities.
Carolyn shares, “As Ambassador for the Disability Community I was aware that individuals with disabilities lacked economic and transportation resources to access medical appointments, the ability to purchase good quality food, and often the ability to communicate with individuals regarding health and the above issues. CAP projects over the years helped to provide some resources. They included a Wellness Day where future doctors were available to share and receive information, identification of individuals in the rural areas served by other CAP Ambassadors for local help, recognition and discussion with small businesses in these areas to provide job opportunities, and funds to purchase equipment needed for accommodations.”
